Cuba Libre
Havana has long been a place of longing for the photographer; the exploring eye beguiled by its typical markers of picturesque beauty and nostalgic charm. Between revolution and reform, it often feels ‘frozen’ in time. Strolling along the streets of the city. one senses the Caribbean ease mixed with a melancholy born out of the country’s history. Trapped by political and economical restrictions, its isolation, however, has all the more fostered creativity and a created a tight social network among its inhabitants. The shortage of technology has made socialising more of a necessity; the people are out and about, engaging with the world around them.
